About Master McNally – Our Founder

The Absolute Tae Kwon Do Association (A.T.K.D.A) was founded in October 2010 by Master John McNally, 7th Degree.

Master McNally has been teaching Taekwondo for over 28 years. He established the association to create greater freedom for himself and his students — allowing them to train, collaborate, and share knowledge without the limitations imposed by traditional organisations. This change was warmly welcomed by fellow instructors whom Mr McNally had taught, supported, or worked alongside over the years.

Since its inception, the A.T.K.D.A has quietly supported schools and instructors behind the scenes. In 2018, the association officially opened its doors to other Taekwondo instructors, offering them the opportunity to join a growing network of member schools and groups. As a result, 2018 and 2019 saw a steady expansion in affiliated schools.

The A.T.K.D.A is also the founding association behind the International Taekwondo Council, now recognised as one of the fastest-growing national governing bodies for Taekwondo in the UK.
